Beautification, revitalization and helping those in need receive services are just a few areas where the Haines City Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) works to make a difference. In August however, the CRA will be inviting the public out for a pair of workshops to learn more.

On Aug. 11 and Aug. 25, “CRA Basics” workshops will be held in the Community Room of the Haines City Public Library, 111 N. Sixth St. to help residents learn more, including how to get involved. The meetings will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Attendees will learn how CRAs are established, what the governing criteria are and how to join committees. There will be a presentation regarding the CRA’s workplan goals and objectives, followed by a question-and-answer session.

“There are people in our community, who want to get involved, but aren’t completely sure how,” said Jane Waters, CRA Project Manager. “We’re excited to show our community what a CRA is, what we do and how they can help. Regardless of what your skill sets or passions are, there’s a wide array of opportunity here to make a difference.”

Those who attend will receive a copy of the CRA’s 2020 annual report, a copy of the approved workplan and all slides presented during the workshop. To ensure supply needs are met, those planning to attend should RSVP by emailing CRAinfo@hainescity.com or calling 863-421-9938.
