Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic Disposal Day
The City of Haines City and Polk County will host the annual Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic Disposal Day on March 7, 2020, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon. the lists below provide examples of accepted chemicals and devices, please call for specific substances or questions.
CHEMICALS
- Automotive fluids, motor oil
- Batteries (household or auto)
- Cleaners
- Cooking oil
- Fertilizers
- Fluorescent bulbs and other mercury-containing devices
- Fuels (Kerosene, gasoline)
- Fungicides
- Herbicides
- Insecticides
- Paint (latex, oil)
- Paint thinner
- Paint remover
- Pesticides
- Pool chemicals
- Propane tanks
- Solvents
- Wood preservatives
ELECTRONICS
**Limit up to five (5) per household**
- TVs, VCRs, CD, DVD or Blueray players
- Digital camera, video cameras (camcorders)
- Cell phones, smartphones, MP3 players, iPods
- Computers and/or peripherals
- Fax machines
- Printers, copiers, printer or toner cartridges
- GPS, marine depth finders
- Radios, stereo equipment
- Video game players
