HAINES CITY, FL – On Monday, June 2, 2025, Joseph Warren-Kahles officially joined the Haines City Fire Department as its new Deputy Fire Chief.
Deputy Chief Warren-Kahles began his fire service career with the Haines City Fire Department in 2011. Over more than a decade of service, he rose through the ranks from Firefighter to Battalion Chief, demonstrating strong leadership and a deep commitment to the community. In 2023, he accepted a Deputy Chief position in Alaska, where he successfully developed, implemented, and secured funding for a strategic plan to launch a Technical Rescue Team.
In addition to his fire service experience, Warren-Kahles served in the United States Navy Reserves, earning the rank of Hospital Corpsman Second Class. He is a passionate advocate for Community Risk Reduction (CRR) and has contributed to key initiatives such as community CPR training, fire prevention education, and inspection programs.
He has led instruction in several state training programs, including Fire Officer, Minimum Standards, and Fire Inspector courses—demonstrating a strong commitment to developing the next generation of fire service professionals. His certifications include Paramedic, Fire Officer II, Instructor II, Fire Inspector, Confined Space Operations, Vehicle Machinery Rescue Operations, Rope Operations, Structural Collapse Operations, CPR Instructor, ACLS/PALS Provider, Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Navy Corpsman, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).

Deputy Chief Warren-Kahles brings a wealth of experience, a history of service to Haines City, and a clear dedication to public safety. His return to the department marks a valuable step forward as the Haines City Fire Department continues to grow and serve the community.
A formal swearing-in ceremony will be held at a later time.
