_____ Economic Development - Working closely with the Haines City EDC, CFDC and the East Polk Committee of 100, this group assists new and existing companies in the greater Haines City area. The committee’s goal is to continually improve all aspects of the area’s business climate.
_____ Education - This committee consists of our area school principals, business and community leaders who meet monthly to promote issues related to quality education and workforce training. The group sponsors events such as Free Enterprise Day, Executive Exchange, and the Youth Leadership program.
____ Government Affairs - This committee interacts with city, state and nationally elected officials to keep a pulse on issues affecting business and to take action when necessary to promote those issues. The committee sponsors political forums to help inform voters and develops the Annual Legislative Agenda to promote issues most important to Chamber members.
____ Hispanic Council – The Council provides an important connection between the fast growing Hispanic business community and our other Chamber members. Educational programs and networking opportunities make this a well-attended group.
_____ Networking Club – This select group meets bi-monthly to learn more about each other’s businesses and share pertinent business leads. They are the first to welcome new members into the Chamber network. The club serves as Chamber hosts at luncheons, grand openings, ground breakings, business after hours and other special events. They also review nominations and determine the winner of each month’s Beautification Award.
_____ Special Events—This busy committee has fun together, planning major annual events including the Pig Roast/Political Rally/Silent Auction, the Golf Tournament, and the Annual Banquet.
_____ Visioning NE Polk– The Visioning Committee brings the communities of northeast Polk County together, meeting as needed to develop one voice regarding common issues of concern. Members include representatives from Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Haines City, Davenport, Loughman, Polo Park, Four Corners & Lake Alfred.
