landmark-church.jpgSpotlight on Our Member: Landmark Baptist Church

Landmark Baptist Church is an exciting church and has a ministry that never stops moving. Come see for yourself “what great things He hath done”!

Dr. Mickey Carter and his wife Sonja came to Haines City in 1971 to minister at the First Missionary Baptist Church. Later the name was changed to Landmark Baptist Church. (”Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” - Proverbs 22:28)

Pastor Carter’s 1st message was based upon Proverbs 29:18a, “Where there is no vision, the people perish”. The 1st Sunday attendance in 1971 was 37. Although the church has grown largely in attendance, it is still characterized by a vision, growth and an intense outreach that is constantly expanding. Sunday School attendance averages over 1,500 a week with a high day of over 3,000.

Throughout the years, various programs have been instituted to carry out the church’s commitment to aggressive evangelism, the infallibility and preservations of the Word of God, Christian education, and the preservation of our Baptist heritage.

The vision and outreach of the pastor and the church has led to :

Landmark Christian Schools (Preschool, Elementary, Middle School and Senior High)

Two Year (Associate)
